Andrea & John – Golden, Colorado

The first time I met Andrea, was at her brothers wedding. I was photographing the festivities, and although I didn’t know it at the time, all the family members in attendance would soon become my dear friends. It’s an amazing thing how we can find new connections at the perfect time in our lives. I am so grateful I met this amazing group of people. They have touched my life.

I met John at my annual Halloween party in 2009. He was dressed as Bret Michaels. I liked him right away because anyone who can work a bandana has to be cool. My belief that John was a real life rock star, was only increased when I discovered his love for Schnauzers. If you remember from their engagement session, this couple has two of the giant variety. Schnauzers and bandanas. Who could ask for more?

So needless to say, it meant a lot to me that Andrea and John wanted me as their photographer. I was even more pleased when they decided they also wanted Lighting Boy. Yay! So on Saturday (in the wee hours of morning), The Super Team set off to the Briarwood Inn (in Golden) to photograph another epic wedding of epicness.

I am very excited to start Andrea & John’s progressive blog. I’ll be adding images as I have processed sections of the wedding.

To begin, we meet our bride at the Table Mountain Inn where she had her entourage of experts to assist her with her hair and make-up. What a perfect way to start the day!

(I’m sorry, but how can someone look this good without having their hair and makeup done?)

This next photo is a detail shot that had to happen while Andrea was busy with other things. Since Andrea and John were disappointed that they couldn’t have their dogs at the wedding, their family members figured out clever ways to include them. One of these ways, was with a homemade handkerchief with the dogs names. Although Andrea knew about the handkerchief, she didn’t know that during her ceremony, the ring bearer would be delivering their rings on a couple of dog collars.

While I took shots of the dog collars, Lighting Boy captured the progress of the primping. Apparently, it was going shockingly well.

It didn’t take long before our bride was getting her final touches.

Wow. She looked incredible. Everyone saw the inner bride poking through, and there was excitement all around.

So beautiful!

And with that, we said goodbye to the bird at the Table Mountain Inn and are headed to the Briarwood.

When we arrived to the Briarwood, excitement was in the air. Guest were enjoying each others company while the final details were taken care of.

Here is John anxiously (but happily) awaiting his ceremony with his guests.

Andrea arrived to the venue, and the time for her to dress had finally arrived. If you thought she looked beautiful before, just wait…

The time has come for Andrea to walk down the aisle and meet her groom. It was a beautiful ceremony full of tender moments.

The little ring bearer was carried to deliver the rings on two dog collars. It was awesome.

The kiss came and Lighting Boy and I were able to get two unique shots of the moment. I love working with him!

The ceremony ended and our Bride & Groom sneaked in a few moments inside the Briarwood.

The next major event of the day was a beautiful performance by John & Andrea’s friend, CC. Wow. What an incredible voice. I seriously could have listened to her all day. If I’m able to obtain a website address for her, I’ll add it to the blog. She deserves to be heard by everyone! She was accompanied by an incredible guitar player and her amazing father. I really enjoyed hearing all of them and so did everyone else!

Andrea and John had one of the most relaxed receptions of all time. The reception was spent talking with friends, eating a fabulous plated brunch provided by the Briarwood and finishing up with cake.

A wedding wouldn’t be complete without fabulous details. When John proposed to Andrea, he had a little help from the Elephants at the zoo. This is my little tribute to that moment.

This will be my final entry on the blog for John & Andrea’s big day. We still have so many shots I would love for everyone to see. It’s always so hard to choose. I decided to end it with photos from their creative session because this section contains some of my favorite shots of the day.

Andrea & John – It has been my pleasure working with both of you (and Fender & Hendrix!). I’m so grateful that you are not only clients, but my friends. Thank you for allowing us to be part of your day!
